South Beach Singapore is the latest development to redefine the Downtown skyline, with two 40-storey skyscrapers towering over the Marina Bay area as well as an onsite a lifestyle mall, a couple of luxury hotels, office spaces and hundreds of permanent residences.
Located on South Beach Road (hence the name), the site is walking distance from famous Singapore attractions such as Raffles Hotel, The Marina Bay, Esplanade and The Singapore Flyer. Completion of the futuristic shopping mall and enormous twin towers is due in 2016, but the good news is that their fancy boutique hotel (‘The South Beach Singapore’) is already open and taking bookings.

South Beach Singapore - The Hotel
Once finished, the site will feature two separate hotels with over 800 rooms between them. The first to open – The South Beach Singapore – is already proving popular for its funky designer rooms (think W Hotel-style), not to mention a gorgeous alfresco restaurant and infinity swimming pool overlooking the Singapore skyline. Location couldn’t get much better either, walking distance from City Hall MRT and Raffles City Mall.
South Beach Singapore - The Mall
Everybody knows that for shopping in Singapore you head to Orchard Road. However, with the completion of the shopping facilities at South Beach, not to mention the nearby Raffles City, Marina Square, and Suntec City, the Downtown hub is fast become a rival for the country’s main retail avenue.
The mall at South Beach Singapore is just about the most spectacular you’ll ever see, set to feature a sweeping wooden canopy, open courtyards, and lots of green spaces for chilling away in the shade. Expect high-street stores, luxury brands and a whole host of restaurants, cafes and bars.
Led by local firm City Developments Limited (in partnership with IOI Properties), the entire South Beach Singapore project is expected to cost around S$3 billion. Those in the city can already see the two slanted, glass-fronted towers taking shape, and the finishing touches are expected to be completed around the end of 2016.
