The best clubs in Singapore are hard to keep track of because of the fast paced nature of the city and its ever evolving tastes. Whilst the clubbing scene in the city has grown exponentially over the last decade, nightclubs seem to open and close periodically, with even the longest running and best loved of them all, Zouk, under threat of closure.
This list of the 10 best clubs in Singapore (that are still open) will keep your faith in Singapore’s vibrant, yet ever changing clubbing scene. We hit the party hotspots of Singapore regularly so with this dynamic guide you can be assured that you won’t look foolish looking for Home Club (it’s reopened as CANVAS Singapore), or the already closed Avalon on the Marina Bay.

Widely considered to be one of the best live music clubs in Singapore, SONAR is conveniently located on the shopper’s paradise that is Orchard Road. As well as live music, SONAR has DJs playing before and after the band. Sit/stand downstairs if you want to be a part of the crowd or head upstairs for a quieter drink at Elysium Lounge (By reservation only, opened in Dec 2014). There is no cover charge unless there is a special event.

After the closure of the ever popular Zirca at Clarke Quay in 2013, it was only a matter of time before another super-club popped up in its place. Club Dream, a 700 capacity venue, now stands in its place and is open Weds, Fri and Sat. Although they boast the first ever ‘video music matching’ technology which map visuals to the drops of each track, what’s more impressive about Club Dream is their drink promos. Wednesdays are $S30 for guys and free for girls with everybody receiving a whopping five drinks tokens - so no need for any pre-drinking beforehand. Fridays and Saturdays are $S28 including two drinks.
Open: Weds,Fri-Sat 22:30-04:00 Address: Block C River Valley Road Tel: +65 (0)6305 6771
Pangaea is not a clubbing experience for everyone, especially those who are on a tight holiday budget. Located at Marina Bay Sands, you’ll have to part with S$S40 just to get in, and the spending doesn’t stop there. Tables cost between $S1,500 and $S15,000, and the most expensive drink is their famous Jewel of Pangaea cocktail at an eye-watering $S32,000 (it does come with a diamond though.) For those that don’t fancy spending a year’s wages on a night out, Pangaea does drinks by the glass starting at around $S20.
Open: 22:00-late daily Address: 2 Bayfront Avenue, #B2-05 Marina Bay Sands Tel: +65 (0)8611 7013
Come nightfall – particularly on the weekends – and Tanjong Beach Club really comes alive. They run their famous Smack My Beach Up Parties every Sunday and be sure to look out for their three-times-per-year Full Steam Ahead full moon parties; not quite Koh Phangan, but you can still expect buckets of booze and live DJs playing in to the early hours. One word of warning: getting a taxi home from Sentosa Island at three in morning is not fun so save a taxi number book ahead.
Open: Tue-Fri 11:00-23:00, Sat-Sun 10:00-00:00 (event times differ) Address: 20 Tanjong Beach Walk, Sentosa Island, Singapore Tel: +65 (0)6270 1355 Read More...
Mansion Bay has closed.
Dubbed as Singapore’s new alternative to the legendary Zouk Club, Mansion Bay gets packed out on the weekends with its broad dance playlist appealing more to the masses; think EDM, house remixes and mainstream dance hits, alongside some more underground sounds as well. This three-in-one club is big enough to hold over 1,000 people across its numerous zones, including the outside M Bar, upstairs Madison Lounge and main Mansion room (which is where most of the action happens). Find Mansion Bay next to Esplanade Mall, with cover charges depending on the night.

Trace Lounge is one of the latest clubs to set up at Clarke Quay, the epicenter of Singapore’s after-dark action. Located on Magazine Road next to Central Mall and just a few minutes’ walk up the river from Clarke Quay MRT, Trace goes heavy on the EDM and hip hop, with some top notch lighting effects (we love the lasers) and sound system to match. Following the trend of many big clubs in Singapore, Trace is only open for three nights of the week: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Expect hip hop for their lady's night on Wednesday, while the weekend is all about the hands-in-the air EDM which continues until 04:00.
Open: Wed 22:00-03:00; Fri/Sat 22:00-04:00 Tel: +65(0)6443 4500 Address: #01-03 5 Magazine Road. Read More...
If mainstream dance music is your thing and you love the nighlife hib of Clarke Quay, then Attica is up there with some of the best clubs in Singapore. It gets pretty busy every night, delivering a feel-good the party atmosphere seven days a week. Whilst some might bemoan that Attica is a little tacky and a place to come to be ‘seen’, the recently revamped interior certainly has freshened up the place, and they do occasionally play host to some international names like Paul Oakenfold. It’s huge too, and you can easily switch to the more underground-feeling hip-hop, house and electronic zones if you get bored of the party pop soundtrack in the main room. $S30 to get in + 2 free drinks (free for ladies on Weds).

Kyo is a popular underground club, both in terms of its music policy, as well as its location (it’s housed in a former bank vault in the basement of Keck Seng Tower). Sitting right in the heart of the business district and boasting a Japanese-esque, minimalistic theme, kyo is one of the best clubs in Singapore for house, tech and minimal music fans. Compared to other dance music clubs in Singapore, kyo is a lot more generous in its seating options, with enough room for 150 to sit and just over 200 to stand/dance. If you want a table on the weekend, bookings are definitely recommended. It’s $S20/25 entry fee for men/woman after 22:00 (includes one drink).
Open: Weds-Fri 21:00-04:00, Sat 21:00-06:00 Address: 133 Cecil Street, Keck Seng Tower #B1-02, Singapore Tel: +66 (0)8299 8735 Read More...
Taking the reins of the much-loved Home Club which occupied the same waterside spot at Clarke Quay for years, Canvas nightclub certainly has some large shoes to fill. Home Club was considered by many to be the best club in Singapore for years, specialising in tech, drum and bass, minimal and garage. Opened in 2014, the Canvas Nightclub now also operates as an art gallery in the day and has managed to retain that underground feeling at night, welcoming quality local and international names to win (back) the loyal following. Just a newcomer but Canvas definitely has the potential to become one of the best clubs in Singapore.

From fresh faced 18-year-olds who’ve just got their first ID, to long time clubbing veterans, few would disagree that Zouk is the best club in Singapore. Not only is it the best, but it’s also the longest running, having opened its doors over two decades ago. Located on the Singapore River a short walk up from Clarke Quay, Zouk has earned legendary status amongst dance music lovers with its numerous rooms and zones, a strict underground music policy and a non-pretentious atmosphere compared to that of other nightclubs in Singapore. Entry is around $S20 with a free drink (free for ladies on Wednesday). Also note that 'Phature' is part of Zouk. Read More...
