No list of the best rooftop bars in Singapore can shy away from 1-Altitude, which at 63 storeys up at the top of One Raffles Place is both the highest place to drink in town, as well as one of the swankiest. Over the three different levels you’ll find an alfresco dining area (complete with trees), numerous bars, a sumptuous lounge area and a dance floor that usually fills up late on Friday and Saturday nights. There is a cover charge but you do get a free drink, and with a view over the whole of Singapore this good, it’s definitely worth it. Drinks start from around $S16 for beers, wines and spirits.

CE LA VI sits at the top of Marina Bay Sands Complex and with its expansive layout and ultra-luxurious fittings, it pretty much sums up the whole complex. Just like 1-Altitude across the water, this rooftop bar has separate zones including a restaurant, chill-out lounge and a poolside terrace, all of which take advantage of the stunning views from 200 metres above Singapore. Entrance is free but drinks start at around the $S20 mark – not too bad considering entry into the adjacent SkyPark Observation Deck is pricier and you can’t boast that you’ve been to Ku De Ta.
Highlight: Glamour and glitz with a view Open: 11:00-late daily Address: Marina Bay Sands North Tower, 1 Bayfront Avenue Tel: +65 (0) 6688 7688 Read More...
As the highest microbrewery in the world, LeVel 33 has enjoyed a steady rise to fame as one of the best rooftop bars in Singapore. It’s difficult to decide which is more impressive here; the stunning views across the Marina Bay or the delicious range house-brewed craft beers. From pale ales to dark stouts, the selection concentrates more on quality rather than quantity and beer connoisseurs can opt for a generous tasting selection of each beer from the menu. There’s also a fine array of gourmet-style pub grub, such as sweet baby back ribs and sticky chicken wings. It opens early and fills up from 18:00 as the nearby offices empty out.

SuperTree by IndoChine
By far the most unique rooftop bar in Singapore – and possibly the world – can be found on top of the highest SuperTree at the ever-popular Gardens by the Bay. SuperTree by IndoChine is a stylish bar/restaurant which serves a menu of Asian and western food, as well as beers, wines and cocktails. However, the real selling point of this one is its location. Even though the food, drinks and interior design do all impress, nothing draws away from the fact that you’re perched on top of a giant, manmade tree overlooking Singapore like a bird nesting in the canopies.
Highlight: Wine and dine on top of a tree Open: 10:00-24:00 daily Address: 18 Marina Gardens Drive, Gardens by the Bay #03-01, Singapore Tel: +65 (0) 6694 8489
New Asia Bar
Well-known for being one of the longest running rooftop bars in Singapore - as well as consistently making several ‘Top 50 Bars in the World’ lists - New Asia Bar at the top of Swissotel The Stamford offers great views across Singapore and over to Malaysia. This rooftop bar opens early, so arrive before the sun sets to enjoy some cheaper drinks promotions and an altogether more laidback atmosphere. Venture up at night – particularly on the weekend – and you’ll find more of a party scene with bottles of Moet being popped, a live DJ and all of Singapore’s glamorous girls and boys splashing the cash 71 floors above Singapore’s Civic District.
Highlight: A club 71 floors up Open: 17:00-02:00 (varies) Address: Swissotel The Stamford Singapore, 2 Stamford Road Tel: +65 (0) 9177 7307
Kinki’s marketing tag of ‘Japanese with urban attitude’ sums up this place perfectly; their menu is packed full of sushi and sashimi treats giving the cue to Japan, whilst the ‘urban attitude’ vibe is created with some funky graffiti tags on the walls, dangling fairy lights and some rather rough and ready seating arrangements. One quick look around and you’ll remember where you are though; the luxurious Fullerton Bay is right next door and the glistening CBD skyline makes the perfect backdrop to this excellent rooftop bar. Kinki gets packed on the weekend (and girl’s night every Wednesday) with live bands and DJs performing on a regular basis. Find it on top of Customs House at Collyer Quay, a short walk from Raffles Place MRT.

Lantern at Fullerton Bay Hotel
Whilst not exactly Singapore highest rooftop bar, Lantern at The Fullerton Bay Hotel still delivers some gorgeous views thanks to its close proximity to the Marina Bay, offering an unobstructed perspective across the water. The highlight here really is their lavish bed-style seating – perfect for couples (or just close friends), to sit back – or even lay back - with a cocktail and enjoy the lights at night. With beers starting from $12, cocktails from $20 and free entrance, this is one exclusive Singapore venue that isn’t geared purely towards the city’s high rollers (although you’ll find a fair share of them here too.)
Highlight: Drinks on a bed Open: 08:00-02:00 Address: The Fullerton Bay Hotel, 80 Collyer Quay, Singapore Tel: +65 (0) 6597 5299
Loof was the first ‘standalone’ rooftop bar in Singapore, and is still going strong today despite the ever-growing competition around town. The views up here can’t be compared to say 1-Altitude or Ku De Ta, however, there is a much more relaxed and casual atmosphere helped in no small part by their 17:00-20:30 happy hour. It’s called Beat the Clock and the concept is simple: from 17:00 hours pours and wines are all S$5, and then you pay a dollar more each hour. Pints start at S$10 which is also quite a rarity too for Singapore. Oh and they have beer pong.
Highlight: S$10 pints! Open: 17:00-01:00 Address: 331 North Bridge Road – top floor of Odeon Towers Tel: +65 (0) 9773 9304 Read More...
HI-SO Rooftop Bar
Opened in 2014 on top of the Sofitel So Singapore, HI-SO Rooftop is a relative newcomer in Singapore’s booming rooftop bar scene. The hotel, which is a beautifully restored heritage building, is not particularly tall, meaning the surrounding CBD skyscrapers tower over the bar and adjacent pool, creating an intimate and almost cosy kind of feeling. We love the garden decor they’ve created and there’s also take a dip in the daytime (it opens at 11:00). With a team of mixologists behind the bar, emphasis here is on the cocktails rather than the beers, and ladies also get a free glass of expensive champagne from 18:00-21:00 on Wednesdays (then S$10 a glass for the rest of the night).
Highlight: Rooftop swimming Open: 11:00-24:00 Address: Sofitel SO Singapore, 35 Robinson Road Tel: +65 (0) 6701 6800
The fact that you have to walk up a small flight of stairs to get arrive is a clue that Zsofi Tapas isn’t going to offer the best views, nor be the most sophisticated of rooftop bars in Singapore. However, when you order yourself any alcoholic drink and find a free plate of tapas is included, you won’t have any complaints. With wooden decking, benches and plenty of greenery, the place has a real pub garden feel to it. A live DJ right in the middle also adds to the feel-good atmosphere and downstairs there’s a great Middle Eastern restaurant if you fancy something a little more substantial. Located in Little India, this surely has to be the best drinking spot in the neighbourhood.
Highlight: Free tapas in Little India Open: 17:00-01:00 Address: 68 Dunlop Street Tel: +65 (0) 6297 5875
